Artificial Botany .morphos was installed in Brussels in 2023 as part of the exhibition “Tell All The Truth But Tell It Slant”, curated by Camilla Colombo. The exhibition explored the concept of truth and the construction of knowledge, through an exploration of the works by different local and international artists.

Hosted in the spaces of FACE B in Brussels, the exhibition has been conceived as a series of thematic circles, each exploring the concept of truth from different points of view and interpretations. Accompanied by the works of the 16 invited artists and collectives, the visitors explore the relationship between truth and falsehood while also analysing the human consciousness, the mind and the body.
Along with the artistic installations, the exhibition also invited a number of scientists, philosophers, epistemologists and experts in different fields. They have contributed to the exhibition through public reflections and insights, offering different perspectives on the topics: the exhibition, in fact, wanted to create collective moments to reflect on how knowledge and truth are constructed in our society.
In this exhibition, Artificial Botany .morphos is presented in a special two-channel installation. Aligned with the overall concept of the show, the piece connects the world of scientific botanical research with technological innovations, generating new knowledge and truths as the initial images are completely morphed by the AI model. At the boundary between human and machine-made, Artificial Botany aims to shed light on the imperceptible features of plants, revealing a new reality - or perhaps one we have simply overlooked.
Artificial Botany has been exhibited together with works by Sajjad Abbas, Kim Albrecht, Mathilde Boussange, Philippe Braquenier, Peter de Cupere, Forensic Architecture, Kiral World (Rose Tytgat), Yannick Jacquet, Laurent & Manuel Talbot, David OReilly, Matthias Pitscher, Bill Posters & Daniel Howe, Margerita Pulè & Elise Billiard-Pisani, Yoan Robin, TOAST, Gillian Wearing.
